Cased Caddis
Building a case, while a lot of work, allows this group of caddis to fill different areas of the stream.
The case allows for some camouflage but more importantly has some more practical functions. A strong
case made out of stone allows some of these guys to stick themselves to the tops of rocks, taking the
full force of the stream where few other insects can hang on, including predators, to scrape aware the thing
layer of organic matter that grows there.  Tube makes on the other hand, can use their cases as a ventilation
chamber to survive in lower oxygen areas. The local steams are well oxygenated to begin with, so in this
case, this can create very dense populations in some areas.

Good luck getting in there! Huff and puff all you want!
A sample that turned up a couple.
Like all caddis, they engage in behavioral drift, most often at dawn and dusk,
when they willingly let go of their hold and drift down stream in search of
better habitat. When in the drift, they will stretch out of their cases,
exposing part of their green body,
and this gives trout a good contrasting color to key in on.

Picking Confidence Patterns:
I like patterns that have some green in them.
Trout key in on this color and it helps them see your fly
