Cased Caddis

This cased caddis pattern is simple and effective. The case is tied with turkey feather, and matches the cases of the caddis well. The green dubbing  represents the body of the lava. The naturald peek in and out of their cases when they are in the drift and their green body is exposed, giving the trout something to key in on.

Favorite Sizes

Naturals range from large 10s to smaller 18s. I carry 14s and 16s in my box.

Fish this fly close to the bottom. Cased caddis are abundant in Colorado steams, but even when they drift, they stay low in the water column.
