Hot Head Midge w/ Holo Tinsel body
I use this fly as a lead fly in winter or in lakes year round. It is tied on an extended length size 20 hook so it is larger (closer to a size 16 regular nymph hook) and works as a great attractor midge. Fish eat it up. I use Holo Tinsel for the body instead of standard thread for some extra flash.

A common pattern with a small twist: I fish them in purple, red and pink! These are colors that grab trout’s attention and really stand out, especially in these small sizes. I use this fly as a go to in winter. This is also great for high mountain lakes. When the fish are rising on bugs so small they are hard to see, drop one of these of the back of a dry fly you can see and enjoy the results. Comes in sets of 6 in size 20 only
Glass Beadhead Midge
Special BWO Package
2 RU-

This is one of my all time favorite searching patters. It just plain catches fish. The contrasting wire adds an illusion of movement and the profile is a killer. If I could only fish one pattern spring to fall, this would be it. The Hot spot versions are a pink hot spot for the red/yellow and fluorescent green for the green/yellow.

This pattern represents a BWO or other small insect. The soft hackle collar tied in front of the bead rather than behind is on the secrets of this fly. A thread body wrapped in purple wire adds to the mysterious effects of this fly. Size 18
